Locums Trauma Surgery Physician

We are seeking a highly skilled Trauma Surgery Physician for a locum tenens position in Hartford, CT. In this role, you will provide expert surgical care in a Level 1 Trauma Center, managing a variety of trauma cases, including both adult and geriatric patients. The position is based in a hospital setting with a high volume of trauma cases and requires strong clinical skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

The schedule for this position includes regular hours from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Additionally, you will be required to cover three weeknights per week from 4:00 PM to 7:00 AM, as well as provide 24-hour call coverage on Saturdays and Sundays, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM the following day.

This position is based in a hospital that serves as a Level 1 Trauma Center. On average, you can expect to handle five trauma surgical cases per day. The emergency room sees an annual volume of 80,000 patients, with approximately 35% of these patients being admitted to the hospital. The facility itself has a total of 617 beds, and you will be expected to document patient information and care details using the Epic EMR system.

 

Qualifications:

 

·         Board certification in Trauma Surgery.

·         An active Connecticut medical license.

·         Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).

·         DEA certification.

·         Proficiency in laparoscopic procedures and trauma surgery techniques.
