Seeking a General Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our healthcare team in Redlands, California. This position offers a unique opportunity for a skilled Advanced Practice Provider (APP) with experience in surgical care to work closely with our surgeons in a collaborative, patient-centered environment. The role provides a flexible 40-hour workweek, allowing for a healthy work-life balance while making a meaningful impact on patient outcomes.
The General Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will provide comprehensive pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care for general surgery patients in close collaboration with the surgical team. Documentation of patient care activities will be required in the electronic health record, in compliance with hospital and SAMGI standards.

The provider will work at the hospital’s clinic located conveniently across the street, ensuring continuity of care for surgical patients in an outpatient setting. Patient and family education will be an essential part of the role, ensuring that patients fully understand their care plans, leading to high levels of patient satisfaction.

The position will involve managing approximately 34,331 visits per year and around 414 acute care surgical consults and admissions annually.

Qualifications: 

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Active California NP or PA license and certification (or eligibility for California licensure).
  • Surgical or inpatient experience preferred, with endoscopy experience as a significant plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to teamwork and patient-centered care.
