Seeking a Physician Assistant in the Emergency
Department who will be responsible for obtaining patient medical histories,
performing physical examinations, and ordering necessary lab tests and
diagnostic procedures. They assess patient conditions, suggest differential
diagnoses, and recommend appropriate treatment plans. Responsibilities also
include prescribing medications, fluids, and diets (with physician
countersignature), performing minor surgical procedures such as suturing
lacerations, skin biopsies, and incision and drainage of abscesses, as well as
initiating consultations and scheduling special tests. The Physician Assistant
assists in managing medical and surgical emergencies, including CPR and
life-threatening trauma cases, and provides counseling to patients and their
families on preventative care and treatment plans. They conduct daily rounds,
document patient progress, update charts, and communicate condition changes to
the supervising physician.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited
Physician Assistant Program.
- Minimum of three (3) years of
experience for Senior Physician Assistant roles.
- Licensed and registered as a Physician Assistant in New York State.
