Optometrist

Full Time

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Optometrist to join our team in Othello, Washington. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference, particularly for indigent and underserved communities, with a focus on rural medicine.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Travel regularly to various clinic sites to serve patients across multiple locations.
  • Ensure the safe and appropriate use of company vehicles while traveling.
  • Perform comprehensive eye exams, diagnose, and treat a wide range of visual conditions and ocular diseases.
  • Prescribe corrective lenses and other treatments to enhance patient vision and eye health.
  • Maintain authoritative knowledge in the principles of sound medical and optometric practice.
  • Be familiar with the scope of practice and regulatory authority governing Opticians and Ophthalmic Technicians.
  • Educate patients on eye health, preventative care, and treatment options.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide holistic patient care.
  • Stay current with advancements in optometry and medical practices to deliver the highest standard of care.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in optometry from an accredited school of optometry.
  • Unrestricted license to practice optometry in the State of Washington.
  • Strong understanding of the unique needs of indigent and underserved populations, with a commitment to rural medicine.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory standards and scope of practice for Opticians and Ophthalmic Technicians.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company insurance liability standards for driving company vehicles.
