We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Sports Medicine Physician to join our team Central/Northern, NH, NH. This position is open to physicians with a background in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation or Family Medicine with a specialization or additional training in Sports Medicine. As a Sports Medicine Physician, you will focus on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of sports-related injuries and musculoskeletal conditions. Your expertise will contribute to the overall health and well-being of athletes and active individuals of all ages. Our team is well-established in the hospital, but we also have 4 outpatient clinics in the region. We are the largest Orthopedic group in Northern NH!
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive non-surgical care to athletes and individuals with sports-related injuries or musculoskeletal conditions.
- Conduct thorough evaluations, including medical history review, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests (e.g., X-rays, MRIs) to accurately diagnose sports-related injuries and conditions.
- Develop personalized treatment plans based on individual patient needs, utilizing non-interventional approaches such as physical therapy, exercise prescriptions, medications, bracing, and other conservative interventions.
- Collaborate with athletes and active individuals to enhance sports performance through injury prevention strategies, nutrition guidance, and exercise programs.
- Coordinate and supervise rehabilitation programs for patients recovering from sports-related injuries, ensuring optimal recovery and return to activity.
- Educate patients about injury prevention techniques, sports safety measures, and provide counseling on managing chronic conditions, promoting healthy lifestyles, and optimizing performance.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, athletic trainers, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and support for patients.
- Engage in clinical research, stay up to date with the latest advancements in sports medicine, and contribute to the field through publications and presentations.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification in either Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR) or Family Medicine.
- Completion of a Sports Medicine fellowship program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
- Valid medical license to practice in the state of New Hampshire or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- Prior experience in non-interventional sports medicine is preferred but not required for highly qualified candidates.
- Proficient in diagnosing and evaluating sports-related injuries and musculoskeletal conditions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients, colleagues, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team setting.
