Locums Neurosurgeon Physician

We are seeking a Locums Neurosurgeon Physician to provide coverage at an ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center in Rapid City, SD. This role involves managing ED consults, inpatient requests, and surgical procedures related to head and spine trauma.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 24-hour coverage with a 30-minute response time.
• Evaluate and treat ED and inpatient consults.
• Round on all service patients.
• Perform urgent neurosurgical procedures—dedicated OR available.
• Work alongside an APP team (available from 6:30 AM – 4:30 PM daily).
• No elective case responsibilities; a clinic is available for follow-up care.

Requirements:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery.
• Fellowship training in trauma or demonstrated trauma experience required.
• Active South Dakota license (clean file preferred).
• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification.
