We are seeking an experienced, dedicated Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to join our collaborative and highly skilled Neonatology team in Phoenix, AZ. You will play a vital role in the care of high-risk newborns across multiple Level III–IV NICUs and Level II Special Care Nurseries throughout the Phoenix area.
Practice Setting & Scope
- Provide care across three Level III–IV NICUs affiliated with high-risk delivery services (and expanding to six Level II Special Care Nurseries).
- Arizona Neonatology also serves two Level IIIa NICUs and two Level II nurseries across the state.
- Work collaboratively with Neonatologists to provide coverage for both deliveries and the care of infants in the NICUs.
- Evening shift coverage in Level III–IV NICUs is alongside a Neonatologist.
- Level II nurseries have 24/7 in-house NNP coverage and daily Neonatologist rounds (in-person availability for emergencies).
- No transport duties required.
Responsibilities
- Attend and provide neonatal resuscitation at deliveries (shared responsibility with Neonatologists).
- Perform diagnostic evaluations, develop treatment plans, and manage comprehensive care of neonates.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nursing, respiratory therapy, and other allied health providers.
- Participate in family education, support, and counseling.
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Schedule
- Flexible mix of 12-hour and 24-hour shifts, adaptable to personal and unit/team needs.
Qualifications
- NNP Board Certified (NNP-BC)
- 2+ years of NNP clinical experience is Highly preferred
- Active Arizona Nurse Practitioner license (or ability to obtain)
- Current NRP and BLS certifications
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Team-oriented, with a collaborative and adaptable approach to care
