We are
seeking an experienced Board-Certified Physician Assistant to provide locum
tenens coverage in an Occupational Medicine setting in Newport News, VA. This
role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic clinic that focuses on
workplace health, injury care, and regulatory physicals for the local
workforce.
The
ideal candidate will have a strong background in occupational health services
and experience performing DOT physicals, injury care, and pre-employment
evaluations.
Practice
Scope & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care for occupational
medicine patients in a clinic setting
- Conduct:
- Pre-Employment Physicals
- Return-to-Duty Evaluations
- DOT Physicals (DOT
Certification required)
- Workers’ Compensation Injury
Care (including follow-ups and acute injury treatment)
- Collaborate with employers, case
managers, and other healthcare providers to ensure timely care and safe
return-to-work plans
- Document patient encounters
clearly and accurately in accordance with clinic protocols
Schedule
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – close
- Clinic closes at 4:30 PM but may
be extended slightly based on walk-in injuries
- No call / No weekends
Patient Volume
- Average 8–10 patients per day
Requirements
- Board Certified Physician
Assistant (PA-C)
- Active Virginia PA license
- DOT Medical Examiner
Certification
- ACLS (AHA certified)
- BLS (AHA certified)
