Locums Occupational Medicine Physician Assistant

Full Time

We are seeking an experienced Board-Certified Physician Assistant to provide locum tenens coverage in an Occupational Medicine setting in Chesapeake, VA. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic clinic that focuses on workplace health, injury care, and regulatory physicals for the local workforce.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in occupational health services and experience performing DOT physicals, injury care, and pre-employment evaluations.

 

Practice Scope & Responsibilities


  • Provide comprehensive care for occupational medicine patients in a clinic setting
  • Conduct:
    • Pre-Employment Physicals
    • Return-to-Duty Evaluations
    • DOT Physicals (DOT Certification required)
    • Workers’ Compensation Injury Care (including follow-ups and acute injury treatment)
  • Collaborate with employers, case managers, and other healthcare providers to ensure timely care and safe return-to-work plans
  • Document patient encounters clearly and accurately in accordance with clinic protocols  

Schedule


  • Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – close
    • Clinic closes at 4:30 PM but may be extended slightly based on walk-in injuries
  • No call / No weekends


Patient Volume


  • Average 8–10 patients per day 

Requirements

 

  • Board Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C)
  • Active Virginia PA license
  • DOT Medical Examiner Certification
  • ACLS (AHA certified)
  • BLS (AHA certified)
