Experienced CT Technologist

Full Time

Join a mission-driven team at the Iowa City, IA; VA Medical Center, where your expertise as a full-time CT Technologist will directly support the health and well-being of our nation’s Veterans. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented professional to perform high-quality diagnostic imaging services while maintaining compliance with VA, ACR, and The Joint Commission standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform CT imaging procedures including patient preparation, image acquisition, and post-procedure processing.
  • Ensure accurate patient identification and safe positioning techniques.
  • Apply knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and CT imaging principles to produce optimal diagnostic images.
  • Maintain proper documentation, including patient records, image quality checks, and equipment maintenance logs.
  • Follow all safety procedures and infection control protocols.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and care teams to support accurate diagnoses.
  • Participate in ongoing quality control and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with standards established by the VA, American College of Radiology, and The Joint Commission.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification in Radiography and CT.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including standing, sitting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and bending for extended periods.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced clinical setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Must successfully complete the credentialing process.
