Locums Gastroenterologist Physician

We are seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist for locum tenens call coverage in Richmond, Virginia. This position offers a flexible schedule with 12 days per month, focused primarily on weekend coverage. The role requires ERCP and EUS proficiency and involves consults and emergency department support at a facility using Meditech EMR.

Position Overview:

• Start Date: ASAP
• Coverage Needed:
• 12 days per month, primarily weekend coverage
• Call Schedule: 24-hour call shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM
• Supporting consults and emergency room cases
• EMR: Meditech
• Patient Volume: Average of 3 consults per day 

Responsibilities:

• Respond to inpatient consults and ED cases as needed
• Provide 24-hour call coverage during assigned days
• Perform ERCP and EUS procedures (required)
• Collaborate with hospital staff and covering groups to ensure continuity of care 

Requirements:

• Board Certification in Gastroenterology
• Proficiency in ERCP and EUS
• Active Virginia medical license
• DEA & CSR certification
• Prior experience in inpatient and consultative GI care preferred
