The Director of Pediatric and Young Adult
Clinical Education is responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering
educational programs that support clinical excellence in the care of pediatric
and young adult populations. This role involves creating orientation and
training programs, facilitating ongoing professional development, and
supporting clinical staff through in-service education. The Director
collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to support clinical competency and
ensure regulatory compliance, while also contributing to infection prevention
and control initiatives across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and evaluate
orientation and continuing education programs for nursing and clinical
staff working with pediatric and young adult patients.
- Deliver in-service education
sessions and competency training in accordance with facility policies and
standards of care.
- Work collaboratively with clinical
leaders to assess staff educational needs and respond with tailored
training solutions.
- Support quality improvement, safety,
and infection prevention initiatives through targeted educational efforts.
- Maintain thorough documentation of
staff participation, competency evaluations, and program effectiveness.
- Serve as an expert resource on
pediatric and young adult clinical best practices and regulatory
requirements.
Qualifications:
- Current New York State Registered
Nurse (RN) license required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
required; Master’s degree in Nursing, Education, or a related healthcare
field preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in clinical
education, preferably in pediatric or young adult care.
- Strong presentation, leadership, and organizational skills with the ability to develop curriculum and deliver effective training sessions.
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
certification – required
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – preferred
