The Clinical Nurse Manager – Pediatrics
is responsible for coordinating and supervising the delivery of high-quality
resident care within the pediatric unit. This role includes the recommendation,
development, and implementation of nursing policies and procedures, while
ensuring that the unit operates efficiently and complies with best practices.
As a key leader, the Nurse Manager collaborates closely with clinical staff and
the interdisciplinary team to promote optimal patient outcomes and a positive
team culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and direction for
daily operations on the pediatric unit.
- Coordinate staffing, patient
assignments, and clinical workflows to ensure safe and effective care.
- Collaborate with the
interdisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans for pediatric
residents.
- Participate in the development and
enforcement of unit policies and procedures.
- Promote professional development and
continuing education for nursing staff.
- Monitor quality metrics and
implement performance improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory
standards and institutional policies.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Registered
Nurse (RN) program – required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) – required
- Pediatric nursing experience in an
acute or long-term care setting – preferred
- Prior experience in a Nurse Manager
or supervisory role – preferred
- Ventilator care experience – preferred
- Current New York State RN license –
required
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
certification – required
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support
(PALS) – preferred
