Locums Radiation Oncology Physician

Full Time

A reputable community-based outpatient cancer center in Worcester, MA is seeking a Radiation Oncologist (MD/DO) for a 6-month locums assignment with the option to extend. This opportunity offers a consistent Monday–Friday schedule with no call responsibilities in a collaborative and patient-focused environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Evaluate and treat patients with cancer requiring radiation therapy
  • Perform and manage SBRT, IMRT, and 3D radiation treatments
  • See an average of 15–20 patients on treatment daily, with 5 new patient consultations per week
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary oncology team to deliver comprehensive cancer care
  • Participate in treatment planning and review with dosimetrists and physicists
  • Complete thorough documentation in the EMR system
  • Attend virtual interviews and onboarding via Webex or Teams

 

Schedule & Coverage Details:

 

  • Monday to Friday
  • No nights, weekends, or call
  • Outpatient only – community-based hospital setting 

Requirements:

 

  • MD or DO with completion of an accredited Radiation Oncology residency
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Radiation Oncology
  • Active DEA license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
  • Experience with SBRT, IMRT, and 3D treatments required
  • No brachytherapy experience necessary
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Massachusetts medical license (or ability to obtain)
