Locums Orthopedics Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

We are seeking a Locums Orthopedics Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to provide orthopedic coverage in Mason City, Iowa. This role includes a mix of clinical, surgical, and trauma/orthopedic call responsibilities. Candidates must have orthopedic experience and be comfortable functioning in a fast-paced environment.

Position Details:

Schedule:

• Monday – Friday
• 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Weeknight call required
• No weekend coverage 

Call Responsibilities:

• Rounding on post-operative patients
• Inpatient and ED consults
• First-assist in the OR
• Trauma and orthopedic call 

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide orthopedic clinical care to surgical and non-surgical patients
• Conduct hospital rounds on post-operative patients
• Respond to emergency room and inpatient consults
• Assist in the operating room for orthopedic surgical procedures
• Participate in trauma and orthopedic call coverage during weeknights 

Requirements:

• Certification:
• Board Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Licensure:
• Active Iowa license or active Compact/IMLC LOQ
• Experience:
• Prior orthopedic and surgical first-assist experience preferred
• Experience in trauma and post-operative care is a plus
