Locums Urgent Care Physician Assistant

We are currently seeking a Locums Physician Assistant with strong urgent care or emergency medicine experience to join a fast-paced and supportive team in the Fayetteville, West Virginia area. This position provides coverage at a reputable Urgent Care clinic, with potential travel to nearby locations (within 30 miles). Candidates must be confident working independently and capable of treating patients of all ages.

Position Highlights:

• Schedule: 8 AM – 8 PM, Monday through Sunday
• Minimum Shift Requirement:
• At least 3 shifts/month consistently to be considered
• Preference for Part-time (6+ shifts/month) or Full-time (12+ shifts/month)
• Independent Work: No onsite supervision; provider must be comfortable working independently 

Patient Scope:

• All ages – pediatrics to geriatrics
• Typical urgent care cases including:
• Cold/flu symptoms, minor rashes, sprains, lacerations, abrasions, and burns
• Minor orthopedic procedures (e.g., splinting)
• Suturing, wound care, and I&Ds
• X-rays, EKGs, drawing blood
• High-acuity cases will be referred to a local ER 

Requirements:

• Certification: Physician Assistant with active NCCPA certification
• Experience:
• Minimum 2 years of urgent care experience, or
• 1 year of emergency medicine experience
• License: Active West Virginia license
• Other: Must be comfortable seeing all age groups
• Must indicate comfort level with the following on submission:
• Suturing/Wound Care/I&Ds
• Splinting
• X-Rays/EKGs
• Drawing Blood/IVs
• Working Independently
• Pediatrics
