Locums Cardiac Surgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking an experienced Locums Cardiac Surgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our cardiac surgery team in Upper Marlboro, MD. This is a weekday position with no nights, weekends, or call responsibilities.

Position Details:

• Schedule: Monday – Friday; 4 days per week; four 10-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 4:30 PM) 

Responsibilities:

•      Arrive at 6:30 AM to see OR patients and complete interval H&P notes
•      Assist in the operating room as needed
•      Post-operative care management
•      Central line and arterial line placement
•      Chest tube management and wound care VAC therapy
•      If no cases are scheduled, assist with consults and CVICU patients

Requirements:

• Must have Cardiovascular OR experience
• Proficiency with vein harvesting using the Vasoview Hemopro system is required
• Board Certification (PA or NP)
• Maryland license (or ability to obtain)
• ACLS and BLS required
