Locum Orthopedic Trauma Physician

We are seeking a Locum Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon to join our high-performing Orthopedic Trauma Program in San Jose, CA. Located within a busy Level II Trauma Center, our program processes approximately 600 trauma cases annually, offering a challenging and rewarding environment for dedicated trauma surgeons.

The physician will work 10 shifts per month, delivering expert care to trauma patients while collaborating with a dynamic, multidisciplinary team.

Compensation:  $5,000 Per Shift

Position Highlights:

• Trauma Level: II
• Case Volume: ~600 orthopedic trauma cases per year
• Practice Setting: Inpatient surgical care and outpatient clinic follow-up

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert surgical care for orthopedic trauma patients
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive treatment plans
• Participate in inpatient rounding, consults, surgical interventions, and post-op care
• Conduct follow-up care in the orthopedic trauma clinic
• Engage in quality improvement and contribute to program development alongside VMC

Qualifications:

• MD or DO degree
• Completion of Orthopedic Surgery Residency
• Fellowship training in Orthopedic Trauma required
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
• California medical license
