We are seeking an experienced Locums General Surgery Physician Assistant to join a high-volume, hospital-based surgical team in Novi, MI. This position offers an excellent work-life balance with no call or weekend requirements and the opportunity to work with cutting-edge robotic surgical technology.
Position Details
- Shift Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts
- Typical hours: 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. (flexible start/end times)
- 40 hours per week
- Call Requirements: None
- Weekend Requirements: None
Practice Setting
- Large hospital-based OR with more than 20 operating rooms
- Facility equipped with 3 DaVinci robotic surgical systems
- Collaborative surgical team performing GYN, urology, general surgery, and bariatric procedures
Responsibilities
- Provide bedside first-assist support during robotic surgical cases
- Perform port placement and closure of port sites
- Assist occasionally in non-robotic surgical cases as needed
- Handle patient discharges, document departures, and manage outpatient prescriptions
Qualifications
- Certifications Required:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Licensure: Active Michigan Physician Assistant license
- Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of robotic bedside first-assist experience, specifically in:
- Gynecology (GYN)
- Urology
- General Surgery
- Bariatrics
