We are seeking a Locums
Emergency Medicine Physician to provide coverage at two local hospitals in
Altoona, PA. The physician will be responsible for seeing patients in the Emergency
Department (ED), managing a high-volume setting, and delivering quality
emergency care. The locums Emergency
Medicine Physician will provide coverage at two local hospitals in Altoona, PA.
Shift times vary, including 6 AM to 4 PM, 8 AM to 6 PM, 11 AM to 9 PM, 1 PM to
11 PM, 3 PM to 1 AM, 5 PM to 3 AM, or 9 PM to 7 AM. The role involves seeing
patients in the Emergency Department (ED), with an average annual ED volume of
approximately 45,000 patients and an average of 137 patients per 24 hours. The
physician will perform a variety of procedures, including intubations, chest
tube placements, central lines, joint and fracture reductions, joint
aspirations, laceration repairs, and incision & drainage (I&D). No vent
management is required.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or
AOBEM)
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine residency
- Active Pennsylvania medical license
- Required certifications: CPR, Stroke Certification
