Recovery Room Nurse – Outpatient Cosmetic Surgery

Edina Plastic Surgery provides the most comprehensive and experienced surgical and support team in the Minneapolis area.  

We are seeking an experienced Recovery Room Nurse (PACU Nurse) to join our team in Edina, MN. In this role, you will provide specialized post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from elective cosmetic surgery. You will play a vital role in ensuring patient comfort, safety, and readiness for discharge in a supportive and state-of-the-art environment.

Compensation:  $38 Per Hour

Schedule: Part-time, 0.6 FTE (3 days per week)
Hours: Daytime only – no evenings, weekends, or major holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care during the immediate post-anesthesia recovery period.
• Admit patients to recovery, receive anesthesia hand-offs, and continuously monitor condition.
• Assess and monitor vital signs, dressings, IVs, drains, and overall recovery needs.
• Respond promptly to urgent situations, including initiating CPR when necessary.
• Support patients with reassurance, dignity, and privacy.
• Collaborate with surgeons, CRNAs, and surgical staff for seamless care.
• Evaluate readiness for discharge and provide detailed recovery instructions.
• Document assessments, interventions, and physician directions accurately.
• Maintain recovery area readiness, including equipment and supplies.
• Participate in Quality Management and Performance Improvement programs.
• Communicate with patients’ families in a professional, compassionate manner.

Qualifications

• Current Minnesota RN license.
• Current CPR and ACLS certification.
• Prior PACU or ICU nursing experience strongly preferred; ambulatory surgery experience a plus.
