Locums Cardiovascular Surgery Physician

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Locums Cardiovascular Surgery Physician to provide 24-hour hospital coverage during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday weekends in Greenville, South Carolina. The provider will manage both surgical and inpatient responsibilities, including emergency procedures, consults, and rounding.

The ideal candidate will be fellowship-trained and board-certified in cardiovascular surgery with proven experience in complex cardiothoracic cases. This opportunity offers competitive compensation and the chance to provide critical surgical coverage within a leading regional healthcare system.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 24-hour on-site coverage for cardiovascular and thoracic surgical cases, inpatient rounding, and emergency consults.
• Perform and manage a range of procedures including:
• Aneurysm Repair
• Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG)
• Heart Valve Replacement
• Participate in call coverage as scheduled.
• Collaborate with cardiac care teams, anesthesiologists, and intensivists to ensure optimal surgical outcomes.
• Review and document patient care in Epic EMR in compliance with hospital standards.
• Deliver expert intraoperative and postoperative care, ensuring quality outcomes and patient safety.

• Shift Type: 24-hour shifts (7a–7a)
• Coverage Dates: November 27–30, 2025, and December 25–28, 2025
• Weekend Coverage: Required
• On-Call Requirements: Yes
• Setting: Inpatient hospital and operating room coverage
• Procedures Required: CABG, Aneurysm Repair, Heart Valve Replacement
• EMR: Epic

Qualifications:

• Board Certified in Cardiovascular Surgery
• Fellowship-trained in Cardiovascular Surgery
• Active and unrestricted South Carolina medical license (required — no exceptions)
• Current ACLS certification
• Demonstrated proficiency in cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures
