Locums Pediatric Hospitalist Physician

We are seeking a Locums Pediatric Hospitalist Physician to provide coverage at a respected hospital in Bridgeport, Connecticut. This position offers flexibility for a provider interested in covering multiple shifts per month or a longer-term locums opportunity. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in newborn and pediatric inpatient care and be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. The provider must be available for this date and open to picking up additional shifts—averaging approximately 8 shifts per month.

Compensation:  $1,800-$2,000/day

Assignment Details

• Shift Type: 24-hour shifts
• Start Date: November 27, 2025 (Thanksgiving Day coverage required)
• Schedule: Ongoing needs; average of 8 shifts per month
• Setting: Inpatient hospital coverage

Scope of Practice

• Provide healthy newborn coverage
• Handle occasional, minor Pediatric E.R. consults
• Attend deliveries as needed
• Offer in-house coverage for NICU patients overnight, with Neonatology backup available
• Admit patients to the NICU overnight (within established guidelines)
• No procedures required

Requirements

• Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pediatrics
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Active Connecticut medical license required
