We are seeking an experienced Locums OB Hospitalist to provide 24/7 in-house coverage at a respected hospital in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. This role is ideal for a Board Certified or Board Eligible OB/GYN who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. The position involves comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care, including inpatient management, deliveries, and emergency response coverage.

 

Assignment Details:

 

  • Coverage: 24/7 in-house
  • Schedule: Ongoing locums coverage; flexible shift availability
  • Setting: Inpatient, L&D, and Emergency Department
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Neonatology, Nursing, and other hospital departments

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide 24-hour, in-house OB/GYN coverage for unassigned patients and private call coverage
  • Manage OB triage, admissions, deliveries, and inpatient care
  • Perform surgical assists at Cesarean sections and manage emergent obstetric situations
  • Respond to emergencies in Labor & Delivery, antepartum, postpartum, and the Emergency Department
  • Conduct floor consults and care for unassigned GYN emergencies
  • Collaborate with Neonatologists, Nurses, and other specialists to ensure safe and effective patient care
  • Participate in hospital quality and safety initiatives as needed
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the EMR

 

Requirements:

 

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in OB/GYN
  • Active Kentucky medical license, or eligibility through the IMLC compact
  • Recent clinical OB/GYN experience within the past 12 months
