Locums Neonatology Physician

 We are seeking a Board-Certified Neonatology Physician to provide high-quality inpatient care in a Level III NICU in Wichita, Kansas. This role offers 24-hour in-house coverage for a large, busy NICU with 60 beds, providing an excellent opportunity to work alongside a supportive team of residents, nurse practitioners, and experienced neonatologists.

Assignment Details:

• NICU Level: Level III (60 beds)
• Shift Type: 24-hour in-house coverage
• Schedule: Per diem; approximately 4–5 shifts per month
• Services Covered: All NICU services except ECMO and heart surgery
• Support Team: Residents and Neonatal Nurse Practitioners

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive care to critically ill neonates in the Level III NICU
• Collaborate with residents, nurse practitioners, and attending neonatologists to ensure continuity and quality of care
• Participate in daily rounds, bedside procedures, and management of NICU patients
• Respond to neonatal emergencies and provide appropriate interventions
• Document patient care accurately in the hospital’s EMR system
• Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives within the NICU

Requirements:

• Board Certified in Neonatology (Board Eligible not accepted)
• Active Kansas medical license
• Minimum of 1 year of recent clinical experience in a NICU setting
