Locum Tenens

We are seeking a Board-Certified Neonatology Physician to provide 24-hour in-house coverage at a Level IV NICU in Las Vegas, Nevada. This high-acuity NICU features advanced care capabilities including ECMO, iNO, high-frequency ventilation, and therapeutic hypothermia. Providers will care for critically ill neonates, including delivery room attendance, admissions, and intubated patients, within a collaborative team environment. ECMO experience is not required, and providers are never expected to manage ECMO patients solo.

 

Assignment Details:

 

  • NICU Level: Level IV (72 beds; ADC 60)
  • Shift Type: 24-hour in-house coverage
  • Services: Delivery room attendance, admissions, and management of high-acuity neonates
  • Advanced Care: Neonatal ECMO, iNO, frequent ventilation (jet and oscillator), and body cooling
  • Team Support: Collaborative environment with other neonatologists and NICU staff

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide comprehensive neonatal care for critically ill and high-acuity patients
  • Attend deliveries and manage admissions of neonates, including intubated Level III/IV patients
  • Collaborate closely with NICU team members, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and support staff
  • Participate in procedures and bedside care as appropriate
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the hospital EMR
  • Maintain high standards of patient safety and quality care

 

Requirements:

 

  • Board Certified in Neonatology (Board Eligible not accepted)
  • Active Nevada medical license or IMLC Compact eligible
  • Minimum of 2 years recent experience in a Level III NICU or higher
