We are
seeking an experienced Locums Emergency Medicine Physician to join the team at
a 22-bed Emergency Department in Athens, Ohio. This role offers a dynamic
environment where you’ll provide comprehensive emergency care to a diverse
patient population. Physicians will work with an experienced team of nurses and
advanced practice providers, using EPIC EMR to support efficient, high-quality
documentation and care delivery.
Schedule: 7:00 AM
– 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 5–10 shifts per month (primarily nights and
weekends)
Weekend Requirements: Yes
On-Call Requirements: None
Responsibilities:
- Provide full-scope emergency
medical care to patients of all ages.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat
acute illnesses and injuries.
- Stabilize critically ill or
injured patients and coordinate transfer when necessary.
- Collaborate effectively with
nursing staff, hospitalists, and specialty consultants.
- Maintain accurate and timely
documentation within the EPIC system.
- Participate in department
meetings, performance improvement, and quality initiatives.
Requirements:
- Board Certified in Emergency
Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM).
- Active Ohio medical license or IMLC
eligibility.
- Current ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS,
and NRP certifications (all AHA-approved).
- Minimum 2 years of recent
emergency medicine experience required.
