Per Diem General Surgeon

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Per Diem General Surgeon to provide coverage at a small, rural hospital in Los Banos, CA. This is a low-volume setting with no trauma responsibilities, offering an excellent opportunity for a surgeon looking for a more relaxed pace while maintaining a strong community impact.

Position Details:

• Setting: Small rural hospital – low volume, no trauma
• Coverage Type: Per diem, 24-hour shifts
• Shifts Available: 4–10 shifts per month (benefits available with 6+ shifts/month)
• Compensation: $1,750 per 24-hour shift (stipend-based)

Practice Details:

• Average Consults: 1–2 per day
• OR Volume: 3–6 cases per week
• Case Mix: Elective procedures and ER coverage
• Trauma: None

Requirements:

• Board Certified/Board Eligible in General Surgery
• Active California medical license
• DEA license
• ACLS/BLS certification
