We are seeking a full-time, experienced Senior Staff Accountant to support and manage accounting operations and financial reporting in a fully remote capacity. This role is responsible for preparing and analyzing financial data, overseeing the month-end close process, and ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting. Experience in healthcare, community health, or similarly regulated environments is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Manage general accounting functions, including full-charge bookkeeping through month-end close
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and supporting documentation
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
- Analyze financial data, identify trends, and resolve variances
- Oversee preparation of internal and external financial reports
- Support audits and respond to financial inquiries
- Maintain accurate accounting records and improve accounting processes
- Collaborate with internal teams on budgeting and financial reporting needs

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 8+ years of general accounting experience, including full-charge bookkeeping and financial statement preparation
- Expert knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, graphs, data analysis)
- Experience with accounting software; Peachtree and NextGen preferred
- Computer literacy with strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of community health centers or healthcare organizations preferred
- Experience with report writer software, programming, and Adobe Standard strongly preferred
