Locums Cardiovascular Surgery Physician

We are seeking a Locums Cardiovascular Surgery Physician to provide overnight and weekend hospital-based cardiovascular surgery coverage in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. This role involves comprehensive vascular and cardiovascular surgical care for adult and geriatric patients in a Level II trauma center with strong OR resources and clinical support.

 

Assignment Details:

 

• Shift Type: Overnight hospital-based coverage
• Shift Hours: Approximately 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Weekend Coverage: 2–3 weekends per month
• On-Call Requirements: 24-hour cardiovascular surgery call during scheduled nights and weekends
• Practice Setting: Hospital-based with inpatient rounding
• Trauma Level: Level II
• Operating Rooms: 16
• Average Cases per Day: 2
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric

 

Clinical Responsibilities:

 

• Provide cardiovascular and vascular surgery call coverage
• Perform inpatient evaluations, consultations, and rounding
• Manage emergent and urgent cardiovascular and vascular surgical cases
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including anesthesia, ICU, and nursing staff

 

Required Procedures & Surgical Expertise:

 

• Aneurysm repair
• Carotid artery endarterectomy (CEA) and carotid stenting
• Femoral bypass surgery
• Fistula creation and management
• Endovascular and open reconstruction for deep vein occlusions
• Endovascular therapy for peripheral artery disease (PAD)
• Treatment of gangrene of the limbs
• Management of vascular malformations, Nutcracker syndrome, and lymphedema
• Treatment of venous wounds and varicose veins

 

Qualifications:

 

• Board Certified in Vascular Surgery
• Completion of an accredited Vascular Surgery Fellowship
• Active Pennsylvania medical license (or willingness to obtain)
• BLS and ACLS certification
