Locum Tenens

A community hospital in Mt. Pleasant, MI is seeking a qualified Emergency Medicine Physician to provide locum tenens coverage. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing a broad range of emergency conditions in a moderate-volume emergency department with strong hospital support.

 

Schedule:

 

  • 12-hour shifts: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM and 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM
  • Coverage needed 7 days per week

 

Facility & ED Details:

 

  • Annual ED Volume: ~20,000 visits
  • Average Daily Volume: 54 patients
  • ED Beds: 18
  • Trauma Designation: Provisional Level IV
  • Admissions from ED: ~90% of total hospital admissions
  • ED Admission Rate: ~8%
  • Transfer Rate: ~2%
  • EMR: Cerner

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat emergency department patients of all acuity levels.
  • Manage medical, surgical, and trauma presentations in a Level IV trauma setting.
  • Perform emergency procedures consistent with training and experience.
  • Coordinate care with consultants and inpatient teams as needed.
  • Document all patient encounters accurately in Cerner EMR.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Board Certified in Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine with a minimum of 2+ years of emergency department experience
  • Active Michigan medical license
  • DEA registration
  • BLS required
  • ACLS and ATLS required
  • PALS required for non-EM board-certified physicians
