We are seeking a Locums
Neurology Physician for a long-term locum assignment in northern New Hampshire,
with the possibility of ongoing coverage beyond the initial term. The ideal
provider is available 2–3 weeks per month, preferably in consecutive blocks
(unless travel expenses are minimal).
Assignment Duration
- 6–12 months+ with potential for
extension
Schedule
- 3–4 days per week at AVH in Berlin, NH
- 1–2 days per week at:
- UCVH in Colebrook, NH and/or
- North Conway outreach site
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- One-hour scheduled lunch: 12:00 PM –
1:00 PM
- No call
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide office-based general neurology
care to new and established patients (primarily adults and adolescents)
- Medication management, patient and
family education, and counseling
- Order and interpret diagnostic testing
- Refer patients to local specialties
(e.g., cardiology, orthopedics, pain management, pulmonology, sleep
medicine)
- Coordinate referrals to subspecialty
neurologists at tertiary care centers
- Communicate effectively with primary
care providers
- Occasional inpatient neurology consults

- Memory loss and cognitive impairment
- Essential tremor
- Parkinson’s disease
- Dizziness
- Epilepsy
- Multiple sclerosis
- Polyneuropathy
Required Qualifications
- Currently performing and independently
interpreting EMGs (without a technician)
- Must meet minimum volume requirements
within the last 12 months (per clinical privilege request form)
- Ability to interpret EEGs
- Ability to obtain a New Hampshire
permanent license quickly
