Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate
with the on-call neurosurgeon to evaluate, manage, and disposition
neurosurgical consults from the Emergency Department and inpatient units
- Round
on all neurosurgical service patients, providing comprehensive assessments
and coordinating care with interdisciplinary teams
- Conduct
outpatient clinic follow-ups to ensure continuity of neurosurgical care
- Assist
in neurosurgical procedures as needed, including pre-operative assessments
and post-operative management
- Educate
patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and recovery
expectations
Qualifications
- Master’s
degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies
- Active
Texas licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- National
certification as an NP or PA
- Prior
neurosurgery, trauma, or acute care experience strongly preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
