We are seeking a Locums Neurosurgeon to join a collaborative
surgical team in Sacramento, California. In this role, the physician will
provide neurosurgical consultation and surgical care for acute cases presenting
through the Emergency Department or transfer center.
The position focuses primarily on inpatient consultative services,
with involvement in trauma and urgent neurosurgical cases. The physician will
work closely with experienced emergency physicians, hospitalists, and a
well-supported ICU team to deliver high-quality patient care.
Compensation: $2600 Per day
Key Responsibilities
- Provide neurosurgical consultations for inpatient and acute admissions
- Manage trauma and urgent neurosurgical cases as needed
- Perform neurosurgical procedures when clinically indicated
- Collaborate with emergency medicine physicians, hospitalists, and ICU teams
- Maintain high standards of patient safety and quality care
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams
Schedule & Coverage
- Locum tenens coverage with a predictable schedule
- 2 weeks per month (approximately 26 weeks per year)
- Coverage may include consultative services and surgical procedures
- Opportunity to perform both elective and emergency neurosurgical cases
Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery
- Active California medical license or ability to obtain
- Strong communication skills and commitment to patient-centered care
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment
