Locums Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated Locums Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a busy urgent care clinic in Lynchburg, VA. This position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment that also includes occupational health services. The ideal candidate is comfortable treating a wide range of acute conditions and workplace-related injuries.

Schedule

• Shift Hours: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
• Shift Length: 12-hour shifts

Practice Setting

• Urgent care clinic with a focus on episodic care and occupational health services
• Collaborative clinical environment with support staff
• Efficient workflow designed to support quality patient care

Clinical Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute illnesses and minor injuries
• Provide care for workplace-related injuries and occupational health cases
• Perform procedures such as wound care, suturing, and splinting
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests as needed
• Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system

• Basic urgent care procedures (e.g., suturing, splinting, wound care)

Requirements

• Board Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Active Virginia license
• BLS certification
• DEA registration
• Experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or occupational health preferred
