Locums Trauma Surgery Nure Practitioner or Physician Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Locums Trauma Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a hospital-based team in Atlantic City, NJ. This role supports a Level II Trauma Center, providing high-acuity care across trauma and acute care surgery services. The ideal candidate is confident in both procedural skills and fast-paced clinical decision-making.

 

Compensation:  $125 Per Hour

 

Schedule

• Shift Options: 12-hour shifts
• Days: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Weekend Requirements: None
• Call Requirements: None

 

Practice Setting

• Hospital-based role
• Level II Trauma Center
• Collaborative trauma and acute care surgery team
• EMR: Cerner

 

Clinical Responsibilities

• Respond to trauma alerts and perform surgical consultations
• Manage admissions, inpatient rounding, and discharge planning
• Provide OR support for Trauma and Acute Care Surgery cases
• Facilitate ER admissions and coordinate care transitions
• Participate in house codes and rapid response team events
• Deliver comprehensive patient care in a high-acuity environment

 

Procedures & Skills Required

• Ventilation management
• Chest tube insertion
• Central line placement
• Arterial line placement
• PICC line insertion
• Non-invasive ventilatory support (BiPAP/CPAP)
• Minor laceration suturing

 

Qualifications

• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Active New Jersey license
• ACLS, BLS, ATLS, and ATCN certifications required
• Proven experience in Trauma and Acute Care Surgery
• Proficiency with:
• Trauma alerts
• OR support
• Inpatient rounding
• ER admissions
• Strong procedural competency and critical care experience required
