Trauma & Acute Care Surgery Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant

A leading 495-bed acute care hospital in West Texas is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its Trauma & Acute Care Surgery team within a high-volume, Level II Trauma Center. This program is undergoing continued growth and will support a new surgical residency program launching July 2026, offering a dynamic clinical and academic environment.


This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced APP who thrives in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting and values a collaborative, team-based approach to patient care.

 

Program Highlights:

Anticipated Annual Volumes:

  • Trauma Activations: 1,618
  • Trauma Admissions: 1,006

Acute Care Surgery (ACS) Operative Volume: 473

  • Active development of a residency training program (launching July 2026)
  • Collaborative, multidisciplinary care model with strong hospital support

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Board Certified (e.g., ANCC, AANP, NCCPA)
  • Active or eligible for Texas licensure
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in trauma, acute care surgery, emergency medicine, critical care, or a related high-acuity setting preferred
  • ATLS certification (or willingness to obtain) required
