A
healthcare facility in Augusta, ME is seeking a Locums Gastroenterology
Physician to provide comprehensive GI care in both clinical and procedural
settings. This role is heavily focused on direct patient care, offering the
opportunity to work in a structured environment with a full scope of
gastroenterology services.
Compensation: $300 - $325 Per Hour
Position

- Practice Setting: Clinic and
procedural (endoscopy)
- Direct Patient Care: Approximately
95%
- Scope: Outpatient
clinic, inpatient consults, and endoscopic procedures
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive gastroenterology
care within scope of practice and privileging
- Perform colonoscopy and
Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) procedures
- Deliver clinic-based and bedside
consultative services for both ambulatory and non-ambulatory patients
- Ensure timely scheduling and
completion of procedures within 30 days of consult
- Maintain punctuality and presence
for all scheduled clinic sessions and procedures
- Follow all medication policies
and protocols (no sample medications permitted)
- Provide discharge education and
follow-up instructions coordinated with the next level of care
- Document all patient care
accurately and thoroughly
Clinical
Duties
- Outpatient gastroenterology
clinic visits
- Inpatient consults as needed
- Endoscopic procedures including
colonoscopy and EGD
- Pre- and post-procedure patient
management
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible
in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology (ABIM)
- Active Medical License in any
U.S. State, Territory, or Commonwealth (required for VA setting)
- BLS and ACLS Certifications
- DEA Certification
- National Provider Identifier
(NPI)
