Locums Thoracic Surgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a Locums Thoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a collaborative thoracic surgery team in Bridgeport, CT. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced APP with thoracic and robotic surgery expertise to work in a high-quality surgical practice focused primarily on minimally invasive procedures.

Compensation:  $180 Per Hour

Assignment Details

• Schedule: 3–4 days per week
• Shift Length: 10-hour shifts
• Call: Unlikely to be required
• Combination of:
• Operating Room first assist
• Inpatient care
• Outpatient clinic responsibilities

Practice Setting

• Thoracic surgery practice with a strong focus on:
• Minimally invasive thoracic procedures
• Robotic surgery
• Lung surgery
• Foregut surgery
• Collaborative surgical and inpatient care environment

Responsibilities

• Serve as first assist in the operating room for thoracic surgical procedures
• Evaluate and manage office patients in the outpatient setting
• Provide inpatient care including:
• Rounding
• Admissions
• Discharges
• Collaborate closely with thoracic surgeons, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system

Requirements

• Active Connecticut NP or PA license required
• Strong experience in thoracic surgery (non-cardiac) required
• Robotic surgery experience required
• Experience with minimally invasive thoracic procedures preferred
• Comfortable managing both inpatient and outpatient thoracic surgery patients
