We are
seeking an experienced Locums Trauma Surgery Physician to provide high-quality
coverage at a busy trauma service in Asheville, North Carolina. This role
offers a consistent monthly schedule, a supportive team environment, and
exposure to a high-acuity patient population.

- Schedule:
- 14 shifts per month (12-hour
shifts)
- Day Shift: 7:00 AM –
5:30 PM (10.5 hours)
- Night Shift: 5:30 PM –
7:00 AM (13.5 hours)
- Additional Coverage:
- Nights, weekends, and holidays
required
- 24-hour shifts available but not
mandatory
- Call room available for night
shift
- Patient Volume: Approx. 35
patients per day, shared among covering providers
- Setting: Hospital-based
trauma service
Required
Responsibilities
- Provide acute trauma and
emergency surgical care.
- Perform required procedures
including:
- Tube thoracostomy
- Central venous catheter
placement
- Arterial line placement
(preferred)
- Participate in trauma
activations, admissions, consultations, and inpatient management.
- Collaborate closely with trauma
team members, intensivists, and emergency medicine providers.
Requirements
- Board Certified in Trauma
Surgery, General Surgery, or Surgical Critical Care
- Active North Carolina medical
license
- Active NC DEA
- ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life
Support) certification
