A
hospital-based cardiovascular surgery program in Lima is seeking a
Board-Certified Locums Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician to provide ongoing
24-hour call coverage. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced
cardiothoracic surgeon who is comfortable managing a broad range of complex
cardiac surgical procedures in a Level II trauma center environment.
The
provider will participate in hospital-based rounding, surgical procedures, and
call coverage within a collaborative multidisciplinary surgical team.

Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient cardiothoracic
surgery coverage and hospital rounding
- Perform complex adult cardiac
surgical procedures
- Manage perioperative patient care
and postoperative follow-up
- Participate in 24-hour call
coverage including emergent surgical cases
- Collaborate with anesthesiology,
critical care, cardiology, and surgical support teams
- Maintain timely and accurate
clinical documentation within the EMR system
Required
Procedures
Candidates
must be experienced and comfortable performing:
- Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting
(CABG)
- Arterial revascularization using:
- Internal mammary arteries
- Radial artery
- Gastroepiploic artery
- Redo coronary revascularization
with or without heart valve surgery
- Pericardial window procedures
- Heart valve repair and
replacement surgery
- Mitral valve repair
Qualifications
- Board Certified in Cardiothoracic
Surgery
- Fellowship trained in
Cardiothoracic Surgery
- Active Ohio medical license
required
- Current ACLS and BLS
certifications
- Strong experience in adult
cardiac surgical procedures required
- Ability to independently manage
complex surgical and inpatient cardiac cases
