Locums Family Medicine Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

A healthcare organization in Cheshire, CT is seeking a Locums Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide outpatient primary care coverage while the organization recruits for a permanent provider. This opportunity offers a consistent weekday schedule in a supportive outpatient setting with no weekend responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have strong outpatient primary care experience and the ability to manage a broad range of family medicine patients independently.

Compensation: $90 Per Hour

Position Details

• Setting: Outpatient Primary Care
• Schedule: Monday through Friday
• Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Lunch break built into the schedule
• No weekends required
• Average patient volume: 20 patients per day
• No procedures required

• Shared call rotation approximately 1 in every 8 weeks

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care services
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
• Conduct annual wellness visits and preventive care screenings
• Manage follow-up care, medication refills, and chronic disease treatment plans
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR system
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary care teams

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
• Board Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Active Connecticut license required
• Minimum of 5 years of Family Medicine or Primary Care experience preferred
• Strong outpatient clinical and patient management skills
• Ability to work independently in a busy primary care setting
