A leading cardiovascular program in Petoskey, Michigan is seeking a Locums Electrophysiology Cardiology Physician to provide ongoing clinic and electrophysiology lab coverage. This opportunity offers a predictable weekday schedule with no nights, weekends, or call responsibilities, making it ideal for a physician seeking a balanced practice focused on electrophysiology procedures and outpatient cardiac care.

The physician will work in a collaborative cardiovascular team environment, providing both clinic services and procedural electrophysiology care.

 

Position Details

  • Coverage Need: Approximately 3 weeks per month
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday
  • Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Practice Setting: Outpatient Clinic and Electrophysiology Lab
  • Coverage Type: Daily onsite coverage for clinic and EP lab
  • Weekend Coverage: None
  • Night Call: None
  • On-Call Requirements: None
  • EMR: Cerner

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive electrophysiology consultations and follow-up care
  • Evaluate and manage patients with cardiac rhythm disorders
  • Perform electrophysiology procedures in the EP lab
  • Diagnose and treat arrhythmias and conduction disorders
  • Interpret ECGs, ambulatory monitoring studies, and electrophysiology testing
  • Manage cardiac implantable electronic devices, including pacemakers and ICDs
  • Collaborate with cardiologists, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and cath lab personnel
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Cerner
  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered cardiovascular care

Patient Volume

  • Approximately 20 outpatient clinic patients per day
  • Two dedicated EP lab days per week

Required Skills & Experience

  • Electrophysiology expertise required
  • Experience performing EP procedures independently
  • Strong knowledge of arrhythmia management and cardiac device therapies
  • Comfortable managing outpatient and procedural patient populations
  • Experience with electrophysiology studies, ablations, and device management preferred

 

Qualifications

  • MD or DO required
  • Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology preferred
  • Active Michigan medical license required
  • Active DEA registration required
  • COVID-19 vaccination required
