Locums Cardiac Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a full-time locum tenens opportunity in Hackensack, New Jersey. This outpatient-only assignment is covering a leave of absence and offers a collaborative practice environment with an established cardiac surgery team.

Compensation:  $125 Per Hour

Position Highlights

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, four 10-hour shifts per week (alternating day off)
• Setting: Outpatient only

Clinical Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage preoperative and postoperative cardiac surgery patients
• See approximately 10 patients per day
• Perform minor postoperative procedures, including:
• Wound debridement
• Wound packing placement
• Collaborate closely with cardiac surgeons and advanced practice providers to ensure continuity of care

Practice Environment

• Work alongside 5 Cardiac Surgeons
• Collaborate with 5 outpatient Advanced Practice Providers and the Clinical APN Manager
• Coordinate care with the inpatient NP/PA team
• Supported by experienced clerical coordinators, scheduling staff, certified medical assistants (CMAs), an office supervisor, and an office manager

Qualifications

• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with cardiac surgery experience
• Active New Jersey license
• Current DEA and CDS (Controlled Dangerous Substances) registration
• Experience managing cardiac surgery patients in an outpatient or surgical practice setting preferred
