Lead Primary Care Physician

Full Time

We are seeking an experienced and collaborative Physician Clinical Lead to join our growing healthcare organization in Atlanta, Georgia. This leadership position combines direct patient care with physician leadership, offering the opportunity to influence clinical excellence while maintaining an active practice. Approximately 70-80% of the role is dedicated to patient care, with the remaining time focused on provider leadership, mentorship, and operational collaboration.

Requirements

  • Current, unrestricted MD/DO license in Georgia with DEA registration.
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Family Medicine (preferred) or a related primary care specialty.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in primary care, family medicine, pediatrics, urgent care, or a similar ambulatory setting.
  • Proven leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills with the ability to support providers and promote clinical excellence.
  • Strong communication and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Experience with provider onboarding, education, or peer mentoring.
  • Knowledge of clinical protocols, scope-of-practice requirements, and ambulatory care standards.
  • Proficiency with EHR systems, documentation, and quality/performance reporting.
  • Previous experience as a Clinical Lead, Associate Medical Director, or other physician leadership role.
  • Experience collaborating with Practice Managers in a multi-site ambulatory environment.
  • Background in quality improvement, clinical documentation review, and protocol development.
  • Experience mentoring or onboarding Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.
  • Familiarity with ambulatory compliance, provider readiness, and clinical workflow implementation.
