Certified Nurse Midwife – Full Scope

Full Time

We are seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife to join our established, hospital-employed women's health team in Rutland, Vermont. This full-scope position provides comprehensive outpatient and inpatient obstetric and gynecologic care in a collaborative practice located adjacent to the hospital, with a dedicated office on the Labor & Delivery unit for on-call coverage. You'll work alongside experienced physicians, autonomous nursing staff, respiratory therapists, and pediatricians, supporting approximately 300 births annually.


Position Highlights:

  • Full-scope Certified Nurse Midwife practice
  • Hospital-employed outpatient practice adjacent to the main hospital
  • Dedicated office located on the Labor & Delivery floor for on-call coverage
  • Comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, gynecologic, and preventive care
  • First-call coverage for obstetric and gynecologic patients
  • Call schedule typically includes:
  • One 24-hour shift per week
  • One weekend per month
  • Collaborative team environment with experienced physicians, nursing staff, pediatricians, and respiratory therapists
  • Approximately 300 deliveries annually

Requirements:

  • Current RN and Certified Nurse Midwife licensure (or eligibility) in Vermont
  • AMCB certification
  • Current BLS (AHA) and NRP certifications
  • DEA registration or ability to obtain upon hire
  • Two or more years of CNM experience preferred
  • Experience with obstetric ultrasound assessment and interpretation
  • Proficiency in office-based GYN procedures, including IUDs, Nexplanon, colposcopy, and incision & drainage
  • Experience as first assist during cesarean sections
  • Experience in both outpatient and hospital settings
