Locum Tenens

We are seeking a Locums Anesthesiologist to provide full-scope anesthesia coverage in Midland, Michigan. This assignment includes scheduled day shifts with optional call coverage and the opportunity for ongoing coverage from September through December. Join a collaborative anesthesia team providing care across a wide range of surgical specialties in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

 

Assignment Details

  • Coverage Needed:
    • August 2: Sunday evening call (6:30 PM)
    • August 3: Day shift
    • August 4: Day shift with optional call
    • August 5: Day shift
    • August 6: Day shift with optional call
    • August 7: Day shift
    • August 13: Day shift with optional call
    • September – December: Additional dates to be determined
  • Schedule: Weekday start time of 6:30 AM; end time based on OR case volume
  • Typical Shift Length: Approximately 12 hours
  • Practice Setting: Hospital
  • Patient Mix: 20% Inpatient / 80% Outpatient
  • Anesthesia Model: Physician Direction
  • Coverage: Up to 3 operating rooms, with a maximum of 4 at one time
  • EMR: Epic with Dragon dictation

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive anesthesia care for patients undergoing surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures.
  • Administer anesthesia for a broad range of specialties, including:
    • General Surgery
    • Thoracic
    • Neurosurgery
    • Cardiac
    • Trauma
    • Pediatrics
    • Obstetrics
  • Provide anesthesia services in both the operating room and Non-Operating Room Anesthesia (NORA) locations.
  • Perform thorough pre-anesthetic evaluations and postoperative assessments.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, CRNAs, nursing staff, and the perioperative team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
  • Complete timely documentation in Epic.

 

Qualifications

  • MD or DO (or foreign equivalent) from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology.
  • Active Michigan medical license or eligibility to obtain an unrestricted Michigan license.
  • Michigan Controlled Substance License (or eligibility to obtain).
  • Current ACLS and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association.
  • Eligible for hospital credentialing and privileges.
