high-volume Emergency Department in Kansas City, Missouri is seeking a Locums
Emergency Medicine Physician to join its experienced clinical team. This
opportunity is ideal for a physician who enjoys a fast-paced environment with a
diverse patient population, high-acuity cases, complex medical conditions, and
a broad range of emergency procedures.

Schedule
Available
physician shifts include:
- 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM
- 8:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Clinical
Environment
This
Emergency Department provides care for a broad range of emergency conditions,
including:
- High-acuity and critically ill
patients
- Trauma cases, including
penetrating trauma
- Complex medical emergencies
- Patients requiring transfers and
specialty care
The
practice environment includes:
- High procedural volume
- Significant transfer activity
from surrounding facilities
- Occasional psychiatric
evaluations utilizing telehealth technology
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage patients
presenting with emergency medical conditions
- Perform all standard Emergency
Department procedures
- Stabilize critically ill and
injured patients
- Manage complex cases and
coordinate transfers when appropriate
- Collaborate with physicians,
advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and ancillary teams
- Provide timely, evidence-based
emergency care and accurate medical documentation

Department support team
- All standard ED support services

- Pediatric coverage is not

Qualifications
- Board Certified in Emergency
Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM)
- Active Missouri medical license
or ability to obtain licensure
- Current DEA registration
- ACLS, ATLS, PALS, and BLS
certifications as required
