Locums Trauma, Acute Care Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care Physician

We are seeking a Locums Trauma, Acute Care Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care Physician for an ongoing opportunity in Palm Springs, California. This position offers the opportunity to provide high-acuity trauma, acute care surgery, and surgical critical care in an academic teaching environment at a Level I Trauma Center. 

Compensation:  $4300 Per Shift

Clinical Responsibilities

Trauma & Acute Care Surgery

• Respond to trauma activations and manage operative and non-operative trauma patients.
• Perform emergency general surgery and acute care surgical procedures.
• Evaluate and manage acute care surgery consultations.
• Participate in inpatient rounds and multidisciplinary care coordination.
• Contribute to trauma quality and performance improvement.

Surgical Critical Care

• Manage critically ill trauma and surgical patients in a high-acuity ICU environment.
• Provide surgical ICU coverage and critical care management.
• Collaborate with anesthesia, nursing, emergency medicine, and specialty teams.

Teaching Responsibilities

• Work alongside General Surgery residents and Surgical Critical Care fellows.
• Provide clinical supervision and bedside teaching.
• Participate in trauma activations, rounds, OR cases, and ICU care.
• Participate in M&M conferences, simulation, didactics, and educational activities as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery
• Trauma/Surgical Critical Care fellowship training required
• Current or eligible California medical license
