Director of Safety & Quality Management – Aviation

We are seeking an experienced Director of Safety to lead and advance our Safety, Environmental, and Quality Management Systems for a growing aviation organization. This leadership role is responsible for fostering a proactive safety culture while ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in FAA Part 135 operations, with Air Medical industry experience highly preferred, and a proven ability to drive continuous improvement across safety and quality initiatives.

Location: Tempe, AZ (Headquarters). Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Safety Management, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Extensive knowledge of FAA Part 135 operations.
• Experience leading Safety Management Systems in an aviation environment.
• Thorough understanding of 14 CFR Part 5 Safety Management Systems.
• Strong knowledge of accident prevention, risk management, industrial safety, and loss control principles.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, ANSI, FAA, CAMTS, IS-BAO, and other applicable regulatory standards.
• Working knowledge of Workers' Compensation laws and related case management.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Air Medical industry experience, Preferred.
• Professional safety certifications (CSP, SMS, or similar) are a plus.
• Experience leading quality management and continuous improvement initiatives.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $107,000–$156,000, depending on experience
